- my friend asked me to help him grow his fitness startup
- I came on as Head of Content & SEO
- I’d just grown a proptech startup from 0 → 1M+ monthly visits

Here’s exactly what I did for him:

1. I launched a new blog focused on credible health and fitness advice from certified personal trainers and medical professionals.

- I talked to customers & trainers about their fitness problems.
- I did keyword research to understand the market.
- I did competitive analysis to see what was missing.
- I created a 500 topic content calendar
- I prioritized it by revenue growth opportunity.
- I hired a talented Editor in Sabrina Tillman.

2. We went from 0 → 20 blog posts/month in 2 months.

The hardest part was finding writers who could uphold the editorial standards and fact check everything.

In total we probably published over 120 articles.

3. We went from earning 5 → 100+ links/month in 2 months.

Now, they've got 1.7K links and 44 DA.

Guardrails were:

- No buying links
- No spam, good DA, with traffic.
- Context above all: health, fitness, nutrition sites.
- Treat it like PR: target health journalists, bloggers, influencers
- Give them great content they can post

That’s it!

We figured out what people wanted to see.

We published as much great content as we could afford.

We told people about it and wrote for their sites.
